Dîner en Blanc is returning to Honolulu on June 20, 2015!

On Saturday, June 20th, a group of dining adventurists dressed entirely in white will descend upon one of Oahu’s most picturesque locations for the second annual Le Dîner en Blanc.  The event is part pop-up gourmet picnic and part dinner theatre, and this year more than 1,000 revellers are expected to attend at a new secret location. Launched in Paris more than 25 years ago, and now an international event with more than 100,000 revelers around the world, the original essence of Le Dîner en Blanc remains: to celebrate friendship, elegance and graciousness. Le Dîner en Blanc is an exciting platform for participants to exhibit their fashion sense, showcase their taste for design, and share gastronomic delights.

Le Dîner en Blanc Honolulu promises another unforgettable evening of elegance, beauty and magic, as it takes over an undisclosed space whose location is only revealed moments before the event begins. Over the course of the evening, guests are brought together by participating in the unexpected, while experiencing Hawaii's version of this international phenomenon in paradise.

Last year’s inaugural picnic attracted 750 cultural enthusiasts for a memorable evening at Iolani Palace in downtown Honolulu. Local event hosts Maleko McDonnellAubrey Akana, and Malie Moran are once again at the helm of Le Diner en Blanc Honolulu.  This year, to add to the excitement of the event, they have retained the culinary talents of Honolulu chef Elmer Guzman of the beloved Poke Stop restaurants and Island Cuisine Catering.  For guests who lack the time to prepare their own elegant picnic meal, guests now have the option of purchasing one of Chef Guzman’s gourmet picnic baskets.

Part of the magic of Le Dîner en Blanc Honolulu comes from the visual experience: the arrival of guessed dressed entirely in white, the waving of white cloth napkins signaling the beginning of the dinner, and after dinner, guests mingling and dancing into the night. “There’s nothing else like it,” said local radio personality and event co-host Maleko McDonnell, “and if you joined us last year, you know to circle this date!  For this year’s dinner, we believe we’ve found a perfect venue to make this a magical night, as well as allow us to accommodate more guests.”
